What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a technique that applies gentle pressure to your feet or hands. It aims to bring about a state of relaxation and help the body's own healing process.

What happens during a Reflexology Treatment?

Reflexology uses some massage techniques and gentle but firm pressure on specific places on the feet with the intention of bringing the body back into balance. It does NOT tickle nor should it be especially painful. It has an all-over body effect but the best bit is that you don’t need to remove any clothes apart from your shoes and socks!  When you come for your first treatment I will take a thorough consultation to make sure I understand how best to help you and to find out what is going on for you at the moment. I will then get you comfortable and gently cleanse your feet. I will use a range of gentle stretching and warming techniques to help relax you before starting the reflexology treatment itself. You will be able to have a few minutes to ‘come back into the room’ and I’ll explain to you how to maximise the effects of the treatment with some aftercare advice.

It is useful for balancing body, mind, and spirit and is suitable for the shyest of clients as no clothes need to be removed other than your shoes or boots. Reiki works on the principle that we all have life force energy and when this flows freely we feel well. When it gets blocked or stagnated we suffer pain or feel ill. Reiki aims to help keep the life force energy or ‘chi’ flowing easily. The Reiki practitioner channels energy from ‘Source’ or ‘all that is’ This energy is a gentle, loving, energy. It feels like the warm feeling that you get when you hurt yourself and instinctively put your hand on the injured part. Soothing, nurturing, and warm.
